Gippsland Business Awards recognise excellence

April 26, 2019

Businesses from across Gippsland are recognised for excellence in the annual Federation Business School Gippsland Business Awards, officially launched on Tuesday 2 April.

Chair of the Federation Business School Gippsland Business Awards, Sheridan Bond, said for 22 years, businesses from across the region had benefited from entering the awards which were supported by local government and corporate sponsors.

“Just by going through the nomination and entry process, businesses are provided with an excellent opportunity to take a close look at how they operate, review their vision, goals and areas in which they can make some beneficial changes,” she said.

The awards will again have a wide variety of categories that provide participation opportunities for businesses of all sizes. Categories include Accommodation, Food Wine Producers, Health & Well Being, Hospitality, Manufacturing/Export, New Business, Retail, Business & Professional Services, Beauty and Personal Care, Mechanical Trades & Construction, and Tourism Activities & Attractions.

Senior Lecturer, Dr Vaughan Reimers of Federation Business School, said the Gippsland Business Awards were an important part of the region’s capacity building process.

“They celebrate the diversity of our thriving business community and showcase creativity and enterprise,” he said. “They are a valuable tool to promote business success and publicly recognise exceptional achievement.”

In 2018, almost 400 people attended the Gala Awards night, recognition of the networking opportunity the awards provide.

“The Federation Business School Gippsland Business Awards are one of the few events that allow us to come together and celebrate the achievements of the entire Gippsland area,” Ms Bond said.

Nominations for the awards are now open and close on 31 May, giving local businesses nearly nine weeks to enter. The awards gala night will be held on Friday 30 August.

Nominations for the 2019 awards can be submitted on the Federation Business School Gippsland Business Awards website – www.gba.org.au Once a business is nominated, it receives a unique email link to complete its entry. All entries are completed online.

“We are urging Gippsland businesses to recognise their own achievements and celebrate excellence in business by participating in the 2019 awards,” Ms Bond added.
