Candidates are selected on the basis of their business acumen, ability and integrity, with demonstrated outstanding service and overall positive contribution to their specific industry while advancing Gippsland’s regional business image.
They will have had a positive impact on advancing Gippsland’s regional business community, as well as ambition and clarity of vision that has provided encouragement to other Gippsland businesses to think about corporate responsibilities within the region.
Their involvement in regional business activities will be beyond the level of responsibilities normally expected with a connection to business projects that have the potential for future development growth and sustainability.

2023 Awarded
Leo Billington
Leo was involved in establishing the awards in 1997 and has undertaken the role of voluntary secretary for over 20 years. Currently lecturing in marketing and management, Leo is also a business mentor and has been a freelance writer for over 20 years, where he first began writing about Gippsland based businesses.
Pat Coles
Pat joined the Gippsland Awards Committee in 2002 and for over 20 years played a pivotal role in developing relationships with sponsors, managing administration, coordinating judging, liaising with media and organising the finalist’s breakfast and awards evening. Pat continues to provide executive guidance to the Committee.
